So you're thinking on having rhinoplasty, or in its more popular phrasing – Nose Job. The only thing is you are afraid of the recovery period and experience.
In this post I will try to explain the basic nose job recovery process and experience.
The most obvious thing in the nose job recovery period is the swelling. The nose and the face area around it are swollen for the first few days after the surgery. How long depends mostly on the person it self. But it shouldn't be more the 3-5 days.
In most cases there is a bruised appearance and a little sore sensation. This will go away along with the swelling.
In some cases there may be a little swelling left for several months after the surgery.
It is recommended to remain at ease for the first 24 hours. Try to stay in bad for as long as possible. After rhinoplasty it is very important to avoid the sun. This is partly why this particular surgery is more popular during the winter time. Another thing to remember is not to blow the nose for about a week after the rhinoplasty. It is also recommended to avoid banding over for the first week for minimizing the swelling and bleeding.
Yes, bleeding from the nose is another possible side effect and should past in about a day or 2.
A nose job recovery period usually lingers for about one week. Off course, this varies between each person individually.
Your plastic surgeon will give you specific instructions regarding actions and 'Not to do' things that you will have to pay attention to after the rhinoplasty surgery
Most people and plastic surgeons say that it will take up to a year before you can see the final result of the rhinoplasty appearance wise. But I came across some people that were very pleased with the results after only one month, so I guess this is individual too.
Well, I hope this information helps a little in your decision.
It would be great if those of you who already went through their nose job will share their experience in the comments part of this blog.
Good luck with your nose job surgery :-)
